Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. Her first job for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native bilingual. Since she was nine, Collins's ability to speak two languages has allowed her to get an employment in Miami as an assistant producer for Univision. Then, shortly afterward the family split up, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo remarried. He died from kidney cancer in 2006. In the course of a family holiday in Ohio, the young Collins had taken a position along with her sister. Antonietta, a high-school senior with an idea of what she would like her life to look like, traveled to Mount Union University to determine what she could get out of the college. It turned out that she loved the campus and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. Her studies were completed and she was admitted to the university as a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station where she worked for many years, became her friend. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his passion for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
